As we draw close to ending the 2020-21 season, our sights are already starting to focus on the 2021-22 season. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the completion of this season, and a new beginning for next season.
We are currently working on programming for spring and summer as well as finalizing tryout dates. Here is the latest update:
- Tryouts - CAHA (our USA Hockey governing body) will be holding a discussion on Feb 8th to finalize tryout dates. It is our understanding that Tier I AAA will be held in late July and Tier II AA/A will be held in early Aug. However, it could be as early as the first and third weekends in May depending on when CAHA development camps are held. We will let you know as soon as CAHA has finalized the dates.
- Spring/Summer Programming will be dependent on when tryouts are held.
- If we have tryouts in late July: We will provide both spring and summer programming in 6-week segments that lead up to tryouts. Each segment will be age oriented (8U through Midget), twice per week, and contain both skill and game elements (1 skill and 1 game weekly). We will also provide goalie only instruction and girls only sessions within each segment. We will continue with the Marc Genest Camps as well as the weekend battle camps spread through the spring and summer.
- If we have tryouts in May: Prior to tryouts we will provide a 7-week spring camp roughly beginning the second week in March through the first week in May. Again, the camps will be age oriented (8U through Midget), twice per week, and contain both skill and game elements (1 skill and 1 game weekly). We will also provide weekly goalie only instruction and girls only sessions. We will also continue with the Genest and Battle Camp prior to tryouts.
After tryouts, we will have weekly camps for specific positions such as forward camp, defense camp, goalies only camp, and body contact camp. Those camps will be structured to work on concepts for those specific positions. We will also continue with the Marc Genest and Battle Camps prior to teams beginning regular practices.
If you have questions regarding any of the camps or tryouts, please contact us directly anytime.
