As per our last update from May 8, we are continuing to work diligently with officials from the medical, education, and national hockey communities to ensure that proper measures are being taken to promote a safe return to play. Currently, a "soft opening" is being planned by the Polar Icehouses to begin on June 1st.
As a result of this, we are planning to commence a summer camp program beginning June 15th for 6 weeks. In order to move forward within the stated NC State guidelines, parents will be required to leave the premises while the camps are in progress. This will be specified in the protocol posted with the registrations.
We plan to hold age specific camps for 9U/10U, and PW/Bantam twice per week. Due to the lack of Midget registrations for the spring program, we will direct any players in that age group to the Jr Camps.
There will also be a Girls clinic, as well as a specific program for the PHHL registered Girls. David Reagh will provide that information shortly as well.
We are currently finalizing the locations and times, but we will also organize the clinics by North (Wake Forest) and South (Cary), with one of the weekly sessions at the Raleigh Iceplex. We expect to have all this information, including registrations posted and open by the end of the weekend.
We will again continue the Goalie Clinic for those that are attending the regular clinics free of charge.
Marc Genest will run his standard skills and power skating clinics as well.
Lastly, tryouts will remain tentative: Tier I AAA - July 10-12, Tier II AA/A - July 24-26.
We look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice soon!!
