BROOKS, AB (November 6, 2019) – The Brooks Bandits (21-0) became the first team in the more than half-century of Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) play to win their first 21 games of the season, downing the visiting Camrose Kodiaks 8-3 at the Centennial Regional Arena on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the team breaks the record previously held by the 2012-13 Bandits, who went 20-0.
Of note, Devin Phillips, a former Junior Hurricane from age 5 through 16U AAA, is a proud member of the record setting team. In 16 games played, Devin has 3 goals and 12 assists, averaging almost a point a game. Devin is a great example of a player following the local path through 16U, and continuing to be successful at the Junior level. We are proud of Devin and his accomplishment.
Our congratulations go out to Devin and his team, and we hope to see them continue on their record setting ways!!
