JUNIOR HURICANES U15AAA WINS LEGACY GLOBAL INVITE ROCHESTER SHOWCASE

The Carolina Junior Hurricanes U15AAA Team swept the competition at the Legacy Global Rochester Invite Showcase.  The Junior Canes went 5-0 for the weekend, only giving up 5 goals in 5 games.  Goaltenders Grant Kloeber and Owen Techet both recorded shut outs and played well throughout the showcase.  The U15’s were short handed as they were without Defensemen Ty Hughes, Broken Thumb, Eric Naderer, Broken Wrist, and Alex Riamundo, Broken Shoulder, and lost USHL prospect forward, Lucas Tremont during the showcase to a broken collarbone.  So the Jr Canes defense of Elliot Kranyik, Ben Christianson, and Andrew Miller stepped up their play, and Forwards Sebastian Vasciko, Brooks Willoughby-Ray, and Michael Llanes did an outstanding job dropping back to help out on defense.  The junior canes out scored their opponent 23-5 and had 8 power play goals for and only allowed 1 power play against.  When asked how he felt the team is playing Coach Lincoln Flagg said, “The team is getting better every day, though we have a lot of work still ahead of us to be able to compete against the top teams.  Once we get healthy I believe this team can be very good by Christmas.  The U15AAA Jr Canes head to St Louis this weekend to face off with the Jr Blues who are ranked 27th.
